DISABILITY AND EQUALITY CAMPAIGNER ROSALEEN MORIARTY-SIMMONDS RECEIVES OBE FROM HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II AT WINDSOR CASTLE
Attending the ceremony with members of her family, Rosie commented …
“I am humbled and honoured to have been recognised by Her Majesty for my campaigning work. Equality and rights for Disabled People has taken a back seat over the last couple of years since the Equality Act 2010; and I plan to use the distinction of the award to ensure disability rights continue to figure highly on the Equality agenda.”
Currently promoting disability equality through her Artwork and Inspirational Speaking, congratulations and good wishes have been received from all corners of the globe.
Said Rosie “I cannot believe how many people have been so pleased for me. Leading members of the political and business world in South Wales have been amongst the first to send me their congratulations. It is somewhat surreal that I should be honoured in this way. I hope I live up to the expectation that having an OBE brings.”
